Ultem™
The high-performance Ultem™ films are based on the proven Ultem resin technology. The Ultem™ polyetherimide resin (PEI) is an amorphous high-performance polymer, distinguished by many excellent characteristics.
Properties
- high resistance to temperature
- low absorption of humidity
- good dielectric resistance, in comparison to polyimide films
- low dielectric constant
- high flame retardancy, according to UL 94 VTM-0
- good resistance against many chemicals, such as complete halogenated hydrocarbons, alcohol and aqueous solvents
- heat-sealing capability, with itself and with many other materials
- high metal adhesion with copper by the sputtering process and thermal-cast copper
